This is the 100th post and will be the 59th of 2007. The current goal is to get to 74 by year’s end, double the number of posts in 2006.

Reading about the representativeness heuristic, I can’t help but think that one reason humans are prone to making biased mistakes, in this specific case and perhaps beyond, is a root bias for certainty over accuracy. That is, we’d rather latch onto a certain sounding but likely wrong answer than an uncertain sounding answer that’s closer to the truth. Another case of demanding precision over accuracy.
